The Vietnam, located in the heart of the Red River valley, was discovered by a line of legendary kings who had ruled over the early kingdom of Van Lang for thousands of years. It is situated in Southeast Asia bordered by Cambodia, Laos and China. Vietnam is famous for its lively, fresh flavors and sneakily composed meals and cuisine. Vietnam is also famous for the Vietnam War held in 1959 to 1975. It was the longest war in the history. Vietnam is a well-known country for a lot of great sightseeing, with the Ha Long bay, one of the wonders of the world (not include in the seven wonders) and one of the most attractive bays. With other famous things, Vietnamese flowers are also very famous and admired.
Rose is the most admired flower in Vietnam. It can be planted and harvested around the year in the Red River Delta, Ho Chi Minh City, Dalat and other provinces. The famous varieties are light yellow, dark yellow. Light pink and dark red rose in Dalat; the white and red rose in Quang an; and black red and creeping rose in further places.
Chrysanthemum is also a famous Vietnamese flower, mainly in Dalat, Red River Delta, Ho Chi Minh City and other provinces. Popular varieties consist of Chrysanthemum morifolium, C. leacanthemum, C. indicum, Japan yellow, Taiwan yellow, Xuxi chrysanthemum, etc. Admired varieties of gladiolus are white, light pink, yellow, violet, red, and short pink.
The majorities of these flowers are grown in Vietnam in the open fields and only in assured areas are grown in nurseries, plastic greenhouses and experimental gardens. Orchids and Camellia are grown in shade nets for safety from the sun in the summer. However, these are not sheltered against rain, storm and floods, and therefore, their value and harvesting is affected. A trend of increasing the number of varieties of moderate flowers in production has been experimental. These varieties are simply introduced into production because of their market value. In current years a range of varieties of roses, chrysanthemum, carnation, anthodium, orchids, etc. were introduced and were rapidly established in the local market. As an effect, these have become the most significant commercial varieties.
Dalat, situated in the South Central Highlands of Vietnam is a popular tourist destination. The park consists of at least 300 dissimilar kinds of flowers, hundreds of which are in bud all year round.
